How to play
Draw, Describe, Rebuild in five steps.
- 1
Select Draw, Describe, Rebuild and receive a playful scene prompt.
- 2
Arrange the supplied icons to create the original scene.
- 3
Another player sees the scene and writes a precise description.
- 4
The next player rebuilds the scene from words alone, then the process repeats once.
- 5
Compare the original and final scenes on the shared reveal screen.
Example round
Can words preserve a moon picnic?
One player builds a yak hosting a picnic on the moon. Descriptions pass through the group until the final scene may contain an astronaut, a sandwich, and a very confused cow.
Best for
Use it when the room needs…
- Communication training
- Creative workshops
- Hybrid teams
- Drawing-telephone fans
Facilitator tips
Keep the chain moving.
- Tell describers to mention position, size, and relationships—not just the objects.
- Use the final comparison to discuss assumptions and missing context.
- A projector makes the side-by-side reveal especially effective.
Participation and accessibility
Scenes use a constrained icon palette instead of freehand drawing. Written descriptions offer a second representation, though the visual-building steps may not suit every low-vision participant without assistance.
