Peer-influence custom quiz

Back the answer—or break the chain before it spreads.

Confidence Cascade is a build-your-own quiz about how answers change under peer influence. Each player makes an independent choice, inherits somebody else's response, and decides whether to support or replace it before the room sees where certainty helped and where it spread a misconception.

How to play

Confidence Cascade in five steps.

  1. 1

The host creates one to five multiple-choice questions with answers and explanations.

  2. 2

Every player answers the current question privately.

  3. 3

Responses rotate so each person inherits another player's choice without an answer key.

  4. 4

Players decide whether to back the inherited answer or change it.

  5. 5

The reveal maps the answer cascade and explains the correct choice.

Example round

When a confident wrong answer reaches the room

A new-hire question about escalation paths begins with mixed answers. One confident but incorrect choice gains supporters until a later player changes the chain using the policy clue in the question.

Best for

Use it when the room needs…

  • Training checks
  • Policy review
  • Onboarding cohorts
  • Teams discussing confidence and evidence

Facilitator tips

Keep the chain moving.

  • Use explanations that identify the evidence for the correct answer.
  • Do not equate confidence with competence when discussing results.
  • Ask what clue justified a change instead of asking who started a wrong chain.

Participation and accessibility

All choices are private during play and authorship does not need to be discussed. Use concise questions, distinct answer options, and enough time for careful reading.
